How to create box pleats in one move
Box pleats are used to add fullness and give a certain style to a garment. PolyPattern provides a feature to create a box pleat in just one move!
Here’s how it works:
We use the “Cut Line” tool with the first click snapped to a distance of 3.5 centimeters along the waistline.
We pick up the “Vertical” snap to cut straight down and click on the hem.
From the Pro menu, we select Open Pleat, check the Make Box Pleat option and select “Outside Pleat”.
We enter a width of 3 centimeters for both the top and bottom pleat openings, and press OK. And there’s our box pleat!
To see the difference with the Inside box pleat, we repeat the same steps, but this time select the inside pleat option.
That’s how PolyPattern opens a box pleat with one move! The Open Pleat feature will open any kind of pleat.
